Catching Up

Okay, so life was pretty crazy before our move. We were busy packing and making the most of our last days living in Cali. Here's a taste of some of the things we did.

We went to the beach to have some fun. While there we took some pictures of Kaleb at 7 months old. I've been trying out different themes for his month old pictures, and this months theme was Surfer Boy.

I made a shell with the sand.

We went back to my favorite park.

This time the Island was open, and we got to go down the slides.

And we saw another momma duck with 10 ducklings. Very cute!

We had a great time! I'm really going to miss that park.

We made another visit to the Newport Beach temple, where we were married. We'll add the picture later.

Then we went on a beach camping trip with the Watts family. It was so much fun! Mom Watts rented a 15 passenger van, and we took the scenic route up the coast just north of Malibu, and camped out at Point Mugu state park. The next morning we went on a hike up the nearby mountain.

The views were beautiful.

Here's the whole group at the top.

What a great way to spend time as a family!

Kaleb was Tagged

Kaleb was tagged awhile ago and I finally have a chance to blog about it. So here are 7 things about Kaleb:

Kaleb loves to smile at the camera and at new people he meets. In fact he also likes to smile when someone gives him attention. He's just a smiley little boy.

Kaleb will eat a variety of foods. His favorite foods are sweet potatoes and mixed vegetables. His least favorite food is peas. He's been able to feed himself solid pieces of food for the past month.

Kaleb is very curious and enjoys learning about toys and new things. Here he is during his first driving lesson.

The times that Kaleb is the most upset is before a nap, when a toy is taken away and when teeth are cutting through.

Kaleb's most popular way to get around these days is to roll. He can also belly crawl in a circle to point himself in the right direction. He's actually pretty fast at it too. It feels like sometimes I leave him for barely 20 seconds and he will already be on the otherside of the room when I get back.

Another intersting thing about him is that he likes to hold a toy with his feet, while he's on his back, and then play with it with his hands. I hope to get this on video one day, I've never seen any other kids do this.

Most of all Kaleb loves to spend time with his mommy and his daddy. He loves to play and laugh with daddy. His first word was Da da Da da. He says it alot.
He also enjoys when mommy plays "rolly polly" with him (when we roll around together on the floor) and he very much loves to cuddle with his mommy.

Kaleb tags Aimee, James, and Grace.

We are moving!!!

I’ve been meaning to update our blog about this sooner, but leave it to me to do it last minute. So for those of you that don’t know the final decision was made and… we are for sure moving to Spokane, WA, tomorrow!! We found out that Jarom will be able to keep his job, and work from home in Spokane, which is a wonderful blessing!!! We plan to sell one of our cars, and save as much money as we can each month toward our future house. We are leaving this Saturday, 7/19/08, and will take a week trip through Las Vegas and Utah to visit with friends and family.

We are really going to miss all our friends and family we are leaving behind in CA!! We hope to come back and visit as much as possible, and will keep in touch.

Kaleb's first teeth!!!

Kaleb cut two teeth while we were in Washington. He was absolutely miserable!!! At first I didn't realize why he was being so fussy. I tried everything to comfort him but nothing was working. Then Kaleb put my mom's finger in his mouth, and she could feel the tips of his first tooth. So now I know the difference between teething and a tooth actually cutting through his gums. Poor little guy, he made the most saddest faces I've ever seen! I felt so bad for him.
Her he is on our way to the pharmacy to get him some teething pain medicine.

He did end up feeling much better later on. Here he is after some pain medicine and rest.

He now has two bottom teeth. They came a couple days apart. He's growing up so fast!!!

Washington trip

We had a great time visiting family in Washington. What a gorgeous state! Here's a pic of Kaleb at LAX waiting for his first flight. I didn't know how he was going to react to 3 hours on a plane, but I was happy that he did just fine. He kept busy smiling at the flight attendants and passengers behind us, and played with lot's of toys. Then he fell asleep half way there and didn't wake up till we landed. It was great!

We were lucky enough to have the next seat empty, so I had plenty of room to nurse him.
He was so precious sleeping on my lap, my legs ended up going numb though after awhile! On our way off the plane the flight attendant gave Kaleb a set of wings for me to put in his babybook.
Our first stop was in Seattle to visit my Uncle's family. He has a house on a lake with a gorgeous view!! We met up with Jarom, who was already there for business. It was nice of my uncle to let us stay at their house. We had a great time catching up with them and even got to hang out with my other Aunt and her family for a little while. Here's a view from their kithchen windows.

After Seattle we took another plane trip to Spokane to visit my Grandma, and Mom & Dad. Kaleb loved visiting with his great-grandma. It was so cute to see him laugh as she played with him.

Kaleb also enjoyed hanging out with his Grandma Rose. Here we are in the backyard having a family bbq. I loved this picture of Kaleb wrapped in a blanket and sitting on my mom's lap.

We also had the chance to visit my younger bro Jake, his wife Betsy, and their son Gabriel. They are expecting their second child soon, congrats guys!

Here's the cousins after meeting for the first time. Gabriel is such a sweetie! He was very interested in playing with Kaleb, and kept wanting to use him to push off of in order to stand up.

One night we went to see Indiana Jones with the family. I hated the part with the man-eating ants, yikes!!! Here's a four generation shot of us after going to Cat tails zoo. It's a really tiny zoo that has all kinds of wild cats. I loved seeing the white tigers, I just think they're so exotic looking. There were also some cute baby tigers there. I felt kindove bad for the animals though. This was definately no San Diego zoo, and the cages were pretty small for such large cats.

All in all it was a fun trip!
