Relief Society Conference

I am so grateful for the beautiful messages of those that spoke at the Relief Society Conference. I especially feel that the message from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf was very inspiring. These were some of my favorite quotes:
“The more you trust and rely upon the spirit the greater your capacity to create. That is your opportunity in this life and your destiny in the life to come. Sisters, trust and rely on the spirit as you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness. You improve not only the world around you but also the world within you.”

“When we reach out to bless the lives of others our own lives are blessed as well.”

“As you draw closer to {God} in faith, hope, and charity things will work together for your good.”

I feel like I've been caught up in thinking too much about myself lately and really needed to hear the words that were said at this conference. I'm so grateful to be a member of the LDS church and to learn more ways of how to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope I can be better from what I have learned and think more of others than of myself. I'm so grateful for those of you who have been good examples to me of selflessness and who have been good friends to me. You woman are awesome and have accomplished so much!!! I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Pictures from Paradise

Kaleb and I went to Hawaii in August. My sister offered to pay for our plane ticket to come for a 3 week visit, and keep her company while her husband was out of town for work. Of course we were willing to help out!! It was so nice to see my sister, and to have the chance to bond with my niece and nephew. We mainly did fun stuff on the weekends because she watches kids during the weekdays. Of course we did a lot of kid friendly activities. (No hiking to waterfalls this trip) We went to the Honolulu zoo, the park, Northshore beach, Ko Olina beach, and the Polynesian Culture Center. I also had the chance to do some shopping at the nearby swapmeet. We had a great time, we only wished that Jarom could've come also. It was hard to be away from him for that long!! Absence definately makes the heart grow fonder though!

Here we are on the plane. Kaleb and I shared the same seat. He was a trooper the whole way there and back. He mainly slept the whole time, once again my legs became numb.

Here's more pictures...

Jenn thank you so much for inviting us to come, and for all the great times. It was an amazing vacation!! We love you!

Here comes trouble...

Okay, so I was cleaning dishes in the kitchen and I noticed that Kaleb got really quiet. When I went to go check on him, this is what I found...Caught
Red
Handed!

He was so proud of himself for figuring out how to get into this box. I guess we'll think twice before leaving a box of crackers within baby reach again.

Date Night

Last friday night Jarom and I started our date by heading off to a local park called Riverfront park. It's a pretty popular park in the area with a beautiful river running through it. We had left pretty late though, and it ended up being too dark to walk around so we had to think of a plan B. We are still new to the area so we decided to drive around and get familiar with Spokane. We headed off in the direction of a minature golf course and had fun just driving and being together. After we missed the turn to the minature gold course we saw a sign that said "Roller Skating". It had been awhile since the last time Jarom and I could remember skating and we didn't know of anything else to do so we gave it a try. I felt like I was back in the 80's again going to the roller skating lesson's my grandma would take me and my siblings to. We ended up having a good time and after a short warm up our past skating skills came back. By the end of the night we were competed in some backwards skating competions, and I won them all, Ha ha ha! (Just kidding Jarom won some too!) It just go's to show that you can start a night with one plan and finish it with another and still have a great time!!

Bubble bath Bliss

So, I'm still unpacking some boxes and I came across a container filled with bathroom stuff. Inside I found some bubble bath that we've had stored away, since our old apartment only had a shower. I absolutely love taking baths and have been catching up on missed opportunities by taking baths almost every day. I can't remember the last time I've had a bubble bath though, and since Kaleb was taking a nap I decided to indulge. It felt so nice to relax and allow the therapeutic nature of water to take effect. After the bath I felt like a new woman. What a perfect way to prepare for a date with my Hubby!
