Saying goodbye

Before we left CA we got together with some friends for a bowling night. I first met Rebecca & Heather in the El dorado ward when I was single.
Thanks for the fun night, we're going to miss you guys. Rebecca & Jaime, thanks again for the yummy carne asada dinners. Rebecca, Heather, and me Jarom, Eric, and Jaime

Another night the girls from the Bellflower ward took me out for a girls night out at BJ's. It was hard to say goodbye to these amazing women who had become my good friends. They taught me so much about how to be a good mother and wife. I will always be grateful for the lessons they taught me and their good examples.

We also want to thank all the Elders from the bellflower ward, and our family, and friends who helped us move all our stuff. We couldn't have done it without your help!! We are going to miss everyone, we really left an amazing ward.

Before our trip through Utah I had my hair cut...short. My hairdresser helped me cut off 10 inches of hair so I could donate it.
It's nice to have it short for the summer.

4th of July

Still catching up...

For the 4th of July we decided to take advantage of our free tickets and go to the Long Beach Aquarium. Jarom had never been there before. They had a special 4th of July picnic with yummy food, and the park stayed open till 10:00 pm. I must have took about 200 pictures that day. What can I say, we have a digital camera and I'm a big fan of ocean life.

We decided to show our USA spirit by wearing red, white, and blue.
The sharks were real scary.

Yikes!

We learned about shark eggs.

And saw the pretty star fish.

Jellyfish are also a favorite of mine. They're so graceful in the water.

That was also our first time seeing sea dragons.
Later we watched the fireworks from the terrace. Happy belated 4th of July.

Catching Up

Okay, so life was pretty crazy before our move. We were busy packing and making the most of our last days living in Cali. Here's a taste of some of the things we did.

We went to the beach to have some fun. While there we took some pictures of Kaleb at 7 months old. I've been trying out different themes for his month old pictures, and this months theme was Surfer Boy.

I made a shell with the sand.

We went back to my favorite park.

This time the Island was open, and we got to go down the slides.

And we saw another momma duck with 10 ducklings. Very cute!

We had a great time! I'm really going to miss that park.

We made another visit to the Newport Beach temple, where we were married. We'll add the picture later.

Then we went on a beach camping trip with the Watts family. It was so much fun! Mom Watts rented a 15 passenger van, and we took the scenic route up the coast just north of Malibu, and camped out at Point Mugu state park. The next morning we went on a hike up the nearby mountain.

The views were beautiful.

Here's the whole group at the top.

What a great way to spend time as a family!

Kaleb was Tagged

Kaleb was tagged awhile ago and I finally have a chance to blog about it. So here are 7 things about Kaleb:

Kaleb loves to smile at the camera and at new people he meets. In fact he also likes to smile when someone gives him attention. He's just a smiley little boy.

Kaleb will eat a variety of foods. His favorite foods are sweet potatoes and mixed vegetables. His least favorite food is peas. He's been able to feed himself solid pieces of food for the past month.

Kaleb is very curious and enjoys learning about toys and new things. Here he is during his first driving lesson.

The times that Kaleb is the most upset is before a nap, when a toy is taken away and when teeth are cutting through.

Kaleb's most popular way to get around these days is to roll. He can also belly crawl in a circle to point himself in the right direction. He's actually pretty fast at it too. It feels like sometimes I leave him for barely 20 seconds and he will already be on the otherside of the room when I get back.

Another intersting thing about him is that he likes to hold a toy with his feet, while he's on his back, and then play with it with his hands. I hope to get this on video one day, I've never seen any other kids do this.

Most of all Kaleb loves to spend time with his mommy and his daddy. He loves to play and laugh with daddy. His first word was Da da Da da. He says it alot.
He also enjoys when mommy plays "rolly polly" with him (when we roll around together on the floor) and he very much loves to cuddle with his mommy.

We are moving!!!

I’ve been meaning to update our blog about this sooner, but leave it to me to do it last minute. So for those of you that don’t know the final decision was made and… we are for sure moving to Spokane, WA, tomorrow!! We found out that Jarom will be able to keep his job, and work from home in Spokane, which is a wonderful blessing!!! We plan to sell one of our cars, and save as much money as we can each month toward our future house. We are leaving this Saturday, 7/19/08, and will take a week trip through Las Vegas and Utah to visit with friends and family.

We are really going to miss all our friends and family we are leaving behind in CA!! We hope to come back and visit as much as possible, and will keep in touch.
