House Hunting

Thanks to a little encouragement from Jarom's cousin, we've decided to take advantage of the awesome rates and try and get into a home. We've been looking for the past 2 weeks I think, and have found some that later turned out to be dissapointments. We've learned that pictures can make a home look better than it really is, and that some listing agents don't always write the correct square footage of a home. We can't believe how many homes there are in spokane that were built before 1910!! Needless to say it's been tough finding a good fit that also works with our budget.
Luckily we just found one that we love and is super nice!! We think it will be a great starter home for us, and are putting an offer on it today. Hopefully the owners accept our offer and it all works out.

Computer Drama!!!

I'm so sad! I think I might have lost a lot of files on my computer, including videos of Kaleb when he was little. I still don't know if my computer got a virus or what, but it started locking up on me. Luckily I was able to get as many pictures & videos backed up as possible before the major problem happened. I should have just taken it in to a computer store at that time, but we're trying to save money to buy a house and I thought maybe I can fix it on my own. BIG MISTAKE!! I somehow ended up completely restoring my computer to how it came when we first bought it!!!! I'm so bummed!! I thought it would still save my files but it didn't!! Why did I do that?? Now I'm going to have to take it to a store anyway and probably end up paying twice as much to fix the problem. That's the last time I'll ever make that mistake, you can gurantee it!! What was I thinking?

Please wish me luck that we can find the files again!! Jarom thinks it's hopeless, but I'm not giving up yet.

Guess who's walking now!!

Okay, so Kaleb has been practicing his walking skills for the past couple of months and he decided a couple weeks ago to let go of our hands and try out this walking business by himself! He started out with just a couple of steps from me to Jarom. He currently takes about 15 steps by himself, with my hands close by. He gets so excited when he walks that he squeals with joy. It's fun to see how happy he gets about it. Also last Sunday he stood up for his first time by himself!!
We are very proud of our little guy, and have been noticing his chub starting to disappear with his new exercise.
I'll post a video of him walking as soon as I have it downloaded.

Snow Jumping!

Yes, we've definitely had a very snowy winter here in Spokane! We got to enjoy a white Christmas and a white New Years even. Lately it has stopped snowing and we can actually see some grass from the front porch. So what did we do during our snowy holiday, do you ask? Well, we weren't able to make snow man's yet because the snow was pure powder. So Jarom came up with a REALLY fun activity we like to call "Snow Jumping". It's basically jumping as high as you can and then landing, as if into a pool of water, into the soft snow. It's so fun!! To see us engage in this wild and daring sport click on the video's below.

Snow jumping soon became addicting and we started jumping into the snow all over the back yard. I even jumped off the roof into the snow! Good times for sure!!

We hope you all had a wonderful and Happy New Years, and are enjoying your winter!!

From first Snow to RECORD BREAKING crazy amounts of Snow!!

Well, here's our first Spokane winter experience in a nutshell. The first snow came the day after Thanksgiving. Totally perfect timing, getting us all in the holiday spirit! Since our family is from CA, snow is a BIG deal, and we were all super excited to watch the first snow fall. Kaleb especially loved looking out the window to see it fall. It's so gorgeous!!! We couldn't wait to get out in it. So Jarom wrapped Kaleb up in a blanket and took him out for his first snow experience. Of course, me being the mother that I am, had to bring him back in and get him "properly dressed" for such a snow occasion.I bought him some thermal underwear and was excited the moment had come for him to wear it for the first time. I thought he looked so cute in it. Here he is in the complete winter attire. Ready for the snow again.Jarom's so good at getting him to smile for the camera.

The snow soon melted after the 2nd day and didn't snow again until I think a couple weeks before Christmas. It was so fun to have a white christmas. All those songs about "winter wonderland" and "let it snow", are finally starting to have meaning to me. I'm definately enjoying the 4 seasons.

So that was our first snow and now... Remember the first picture with the bbq in the backround? Well, here's the bbq now.

Crazy huh? We've had so much snow fall, over 3 ft and counting... A guy from our ward said Spokane has had more snow than any other city in the country!! And it was mentioned on the radio that there has not been this much snow in Spokane that the snow fall in the month of December broke a record since 127 years ago!!! Super crazy! We figure it's good that we had a lot of snow our first winter, so that the following winters will seem like nothing.
This was our neighbors car that got stuck trying to get out to work that morning. We're so grateful that Jarom is able to work from home and not have to commute in the snow.
We hope you all are enjoying your winter and are staying warm.

Ward Christmas Party

Here's our little family at the ward Christmas Party a couple weeks ago. They had costumes for all the families to dress in for a Nativity photo. Here's Jarom as Joseph and our little Shephard boy Kaleb.
We are so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and for all that he has done for mankind. We love this time of year when we celebrate his birth. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
