Date Night

Last friday night Jarom and I started our date by heading off to a local park called Riverfront park. It's a pretty popular park in the area with a beautiful river running through it. We had left pretty late though, and it ended up being too dark to walk around so we had to think of a plan B. We are still new to the area so we decided to drive around and get familiar with Spokane. We headed off in the direction of a minature golf course and had fun just driving and being together. After we missed the turn to the minature gold course we saw a sign that said "Roller Skating". It had been awhile since the last time Jarom and I could remember skating and we didn't know of anything else to do so we gave it a try. I felt like I was back in the 80's again going to the roller skating lesson's my grandma would take me and my siblings to. We ended up having a good time and after a short warm up our past skating skills came back. By the end of the night we were competed in some backwards skating competions, and I won them all, Ha ha ha! (Just kidding Jarom won some too!) It just go's to show that you can start a night with one plan and finish it with another and still have a great time!!

Bubble bath Bliss

So, I'm still unpacking some boxes and I came across a container filled with bathroom stuff. Inside I found some bubble bath that we've had stored away, since our old apartment only had a shower. I absolutely love taking baths and have been catching up on missed opportunities by taking baths almost every day. I can't remember the last time I've had a bubble bath though, and since Kaleb was taking a nap I decided to indulge. It felt so nice to relax and allow the therapeutic nature of water to take effect. After the bath I felt like a new woman. What a perfect way to prepare for a date with my Hubby!

Kaleb at 9 months old

I decided that this months picture theme would be a baseball boy. I took him to a nearby park in Spokane, and sat him on the home plate. Here's a couple of shots.
Kaleb's been sitting up during baths for the past couple of months. At nine months he weighs 23 lbs. He's been saying Da da, belly crawling, scooting while sitting, and rolling around. He's also been eating solid chunks of food on his own. He continues to amaze me with new things he learns each day.
Here he is after his photo shoot.

We later took him out to dinner with us for chinese.

Utah /Road trip to WA

And now for A LOT of pictures from our visit in Utah, and our road trip to WA. (Sorry about this long post, it's the longest post I've ever written)

We first stopped in Las Vegas to visit my newlywed friends Kristin & Adam. Thank you guys for the yummy dinner. Then we made our way to the Watts family ranch near Cedar City, UT, where we stayed the night. We saw this beautiful sunset on the way. We got to catch up with Grandma & Grandpa Dickinson and took some pictures of the beautiful sky. I love pictures of sun rays shining through the clouds. It makes me feel like Heaven is shining through.

Next we made our way to Aaron & Krystal's house. We stayed with them for a week and had some great times. They have a beautiful house in Woodscross, UT, and we really enjoyed spending time with them and little AJ.

The first Sunday we were there, we were invited to go to Grandma Isaksen's house (Jarom's Grandma). On the way there we saw a beautiful rainbow. It was my first time meeting her. She is a very warm and sweet lady. Rachel (Jarom's sister), Andrew (Rachel's husband), and their two boys also came. It was nice to see them again and to meet little Seth, the newest addition to the Watts family.

Me & Seth. He's such a handsome little boy, he almost looked to perfect to be real.

Tirza (Jarom's sister) was also there with her fiance James. They will be married late October in CA, which will give us a great reason to come back and visit. Yeah!!!Here we all are at Grandma Isaksen's house. From left to right: (James, Tirza, Andrew w/Malachi, Rachel, Grandma Isaksen w/ Seth, Jarom, Crystal w/ Kaleb, Aaron, Krystal w/ AJ, Erica, and Clint)

A couple of family shots. The K(C)rystal's with their boys.

All the little cousin boys. These two cousins share the same birthday. Malachi is one year older than Kaleb. He was so sweet to give Kaleb a kiss.Kaleb had a good time visiting his cousins.

One of the days Krystal and Aaron took us to a super fun recreation center near their home. It had a fun water area with a water slide, a lazy river, and a kids water activity center.

We had a great time!

I had the chance to get my baby fix while there. I took a trip to Provo one day and first visited one of my old roommates, Emily. She just recently had a beautful baby girl named Aimee. She was such a precious little girl. I'm kind of hoping to have a girl next. :o)We sat Kaleb next to her and put his arm around her. She was so tiny next to him! He didn't seem to comfortable with the set-up. I guess he's just to young to be interested in putting his arms around girls, Ha ha. After visiting Emily, I went to see my friend Rachael who just had a baby boy. He was also so precious! He was so tiny, I can't believe Kaleb used to be that small. (Sigh...they just grow up so fast) I want another tiny baby again! I actually wouldn't mind if we ended up having another boy. Later that night we went to a park for a Pioneer day firework show. Here we are enjoying the show.

Here is Aaron, Krystal, and little AJ. We were really close to the fireworks and it got pretty loud at times. I was really impressed with how the boys handled it. Although I think at times Kaleb did get a little scared. He just stayed in my lap and clutched his blanket. It was so cute. Jarom and I both agree that it was one of the most amazing firework shows we have ever seen.

Krystal is a very creative and crafty person and had a good craft idea for our boy's rooms. It involved covering a cork board with fabric and decorations to make a backround to hang pictures and things on. Here is the before picture of my project.

The boys played while we were putting together our projects.

And...Taa Duh...Here we are holding up our final results. I was actually very proud of myself. I usually don't make crafts, but with Krystal's inspiration, I thought it turned out pretty good. It was a lot of fun too! I want to make more things. Thanks again Krystal for the fun day of crafting.

Aaron and Krystal have an adorable house that is well decorated. They have the cutest little play room for AJ that the previous owner had painted like a little town for her little boy. She re-painted the name signs to say "AJ" and "Watts" before Aaron and Krystal moved in. Here's Kaleb in the "Watts town" room. One day we had the chance to visit the Bountiful temple. It is so beautiful, unfortunately we it was closed when we where there so we couldn't go inside. The night before we left we went out to a chinese dinner.

Thanks again Aaron & Krystal for your hospitality and fun times. We'll see you in October.

At the end of the week we started our 10 hour drive to Spokane, WA. We were determined to make the drive in just one day, but we soon found out that it's not very realistic to drive 10 hours straight with a 8 month old. So we took some breaks along the way. And we ended up staying at a cute little bed in breakfast in Montana. We didn't even know we were in Montana, but it was very late and we all needed sleep. Jarom was first against us stopping, but he ended up being very happy about it after we did. The service was excellent, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was very yummy. So after our night of good rest we made the rest of the 4 hour drive with no problem. Here we are in the front of the B&B.Here's a pic of us driving through beautiful Coeur d'Alene, ID. After all that, at last we made it to Spokane. The end.
